It’s been a very fruitful Frankfurt Book Fair for Polishrights, with offers for various books and authors coming in from all over the world during and after the fair. Here is a list of the closed deals:

In a two-book deal Penguin US bought World English rights for Witold Szablowski’s book DANCING BEARS, and the yet-unwritten book RECIPE FOR HISTORY.

The Swedish publisher of Andrzej Stasiuk, Ersatz, acquired Swedish rights to Stasiuk’s book THE EAST, marking the 6th foreign sale for this title.

French publisher Agullo acquired rights to two crime novels (DOLLS’ FARM & THE ARSONIST) by Wojciech Chmielarz, one of the most popular and acclaimed crime authors in Poland.

The US publisher Restless Books acquired North American rights to MIEDZIANKA, an extraordinary literary reportage written by the rising star of Polish literature, Filip Springer.

Ewa Winnicka received this year’s Gryfia Literary Prize for her book “Angole” (“The Brits”).

From the verdict:
